What’s an MRI, and what is MRI Certification? To begin with, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a medical imaging technique that uses a magnetic field and computer-generated radio waves. This is to create detailed images of the organs and tissues within the body.1 Consequently, MRIs can be used to diagnose a wide variety of conditions. Moreover, these may range from neurological disorders to cancer. Because of this, MRIs are frequently utilized to monitor care and explore treatment options.

As a result, MRIs are so valuable that some experts believe the MRI procedure may be one of the most significant technological advancements of the past decade. This is due to the procedure’s ability to provide detailed and accurate images. Simultaneously, these provide minimal risks to patients. Non-invasive MRIs do not expose patients to ionizing radiation. This makes them a safe option for repeat imaging. As a result, MRIs will likely play an increasing role in medicine for years.
MRI Certification
In all, industry experts say the MRI field is growing. Consequently, its value is increasing as a healthcare support role. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, experts anticipate a nine percent growth for the profession from 2018 to 2028.2 Further, the position is a favorable vocation. According to the US News and World Report, MRI Technologists scored six out of ten in job satisfaction. Additionally, the role received 17th in Best Health Care Support Jobs. At the same time, the vocation ranked 89 out of 100 in Best Jobs.3
Accordingly, being an MRI Technologist can be a good profession for many reasons. One advantage is that it requires only an associate-level degree. This means the path to becoming an MRI Technologist is shorter and generally less expensive than many other healthcare professions. This contrasts with careers requiring Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees.
A second advantage is that MRI Technologists are not stuck in offices all day. Largely, technologists can be active as part of their jobs. A third advantage is that they can also tangibly help patients. They often provide patients with diagnostic images to detect and treat various medical conditions.
Choosing MRI Certification
